About the School

A new Sainik School in Meghalaya, grown in the Abode of Clouds

Sainik School Meghalaya is a fully residential, CBSE Sainik School set in the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya — the "abode of clouds," among the wettest and greenest terrain in India. It follows the same national framework as India's older Sainik Schools, widening access to disciplined, affordable, merit-based education for students of Meghalaya and the wider Northeast.

"We ask three things of every cadet who passes through our gate: scholarship in the classroom, discipline on the ground, and character everywhere else." — Office of the Principal

As one of the newer additions to the Sainik School network, Meghalaya combines a modern CBSE campus with the traditional Sainik School routine — early morning PT, structured classroom hours, and a house system that puts senior cadets in charge of their juniors from the very first term.

Principal's Message
"The hills here teach a patience most places don't. Nothing on this campus is rushed — we would rather grow a cadet slowly and correctly than push them through and watch them come apart later."

The Khasi Hills

A campus in the abode of clouds

Meghalaya means "abode of clouds" — and the mist that rolls through the Khasi Hills every morning is part of daily life here. That same patience the hills teach, letting things grow in their own time, is woven into everything we teach our cadets.
